175 W 73Rd St

A 16-story prewar cooperative completed in 1924, this Upper West Side residence exemplifies Neo‑Renaissance townhouse-inspired architecture rendered in brick and limestone. Units are primarily studios and one-bedrooms, many retaining original details such as high beamed ceilings, herringbone hardwood floors, crown moldings, generous foyers and sizable closets. Typical apartments offer eat-in or windowed kitchens, recessed lighting updates, built-in storage and ample natural light from multiple exposures; some flats have been renovated while others present a renovation opportunity. Common areas reflect full‑service coop living: a staffed 24-hour doorman, live-in superintendent, elevator service, central laundry, a bike room and tenant storage lockers (subject to waitlist). The planted roof deck provides cultivated outdoor space and there is limited additional building storage. Policies are homeowner-friendly in several ways—pied‑à‑terres, guarantors, parents buying for children and controlled subletting are permitted—though dogs are often restricted. Located steps from the 72nd Street express subway and equidistant to Central and Riverside Parks, the building sits amid grocery options, cultural venues and neighborhood shopping that define Upper West Side daily life.
