30 Bogardus Pl

30 Bogardus Place is a six-story, 1941 Art Deco cooperative elevator building in Washington Heights’ Fort George pocket. The masonry façade and arched entryways reflect period detailing; interiors commonly feature high ceilings, original hardwood or parquet floors, crown moldings, built-ins and sunken living rooms. Typical units are one- and two-bedroom layouts (including oversized alcove studios) with formal entry foyers, separate dining nooks or eat-in kitchens, windowed bathrooms and abundant closet storage; many apartments retain decorative elements such as built-in shelving and polished trim. Building-level services and amenities include a renovated elevator, full-time superintendent, central laundry room, complimentary private storage lockers for units, bike storage and on-site maintenance; select apartments offer small private outdoor spaces. Co-op policies are flexible: pied-a-terres, co-purchasing, gifting and one-year sublets are permitted, and cats are allowed (dogs generally not permitted). Location benefits include immediate proximity to Fort Tryon Park and The Cloisters, easy access to the A and 1 subway lines and a neighborhood retail corridor with cafes, restaurants and farmers’ market options.
