Fort Tryon Gardens is a mid-century, eight-story cooperative complex built in 1951 and organized across several connected buildings that offer one- to three-bedroom apartments. Architecturally restrained and residential in scale, the property emphasizes community-oriented living rather than flashy design: high ceilings and hardwood floors are common inside units, many of which feature windowed kitchens, breakfast bars, and generous closet storage. Common areas include a large landscaped courtyard and garden, a bike room, building storage, central laundry facilities, and a staffed live-in superintendent plus porter/handyman support. Practical conveniences extend to video intercom entry, elevator service, and an on-site covered parking garage (fee); some storage and bike amenities require fees or waitlists. Pet-friendly policies, pied-à-terre permissions, and relatively flexible financing options are part of the co-op’s operational profile. Located in Hudson Heights directly adjacent to Fort Tryon Park, the buildings have dual access points on Bennett Avenue and Broadway, placing the A express line and the 1 train within a block or two. The neighborhood offers abundant green space, cultural destinations like The Cloisters, neighborhood restaurants and shops, and straightforward highway and bridge access for regional travel.
