430 W 34Th St

A 17-story postwar cooperative constructed in 1963 and converted to co-op ownership in 1988, this full-service Midtown West property contains studios, junior one-bedrooms and one- and two-bedroom layouts across approximately 177 residences. The blocky midcentury massing gives way to a well-maintained exterior with planted, furnished roof deck offering panoramic city views. Interiors range from original-condition alcove studios with parquet to recently renovated units featuring oak plank floors, marble or granite counters and updated baths; many layouts include alcoves that are frequently enclosed to create private sleeping areas. Building-level conveniences emphasize daily living: 24-hour doorman, live-in superintendent, card-operated central laundry, bicycle room, rentable storage bins and on-site staff for maintenance. Outdoor offerings include the large communal roof terrace and some apartments with private outdoor spaces of varying sizes. Board policies are notably flexible for Manhattan co-ops: pied-a-terre purchases, parents buying for children, gifting, guarantors and pets are allowed; subletting is permitted after an initial owner-occupancy period. The property sits steps from the High Line and Hudson Yards retail and transit hub, with A/C/E, 7 and Penn Station regional connections within walking distance.
