595 W End Ave

Built in 1922, this 15-story prewar condominium on the Upper West Side blends traditional masonry architecture with preserved period detailing and layered modern renovations. Units range from one- and three-bedroom layouts to expansive multi-room duplexes with private elevator landings; many residences feature high beamed ceilings (around 9–10 feet), walnut-stained hardwood floors, oversized windows, and built-in millwork. Kitchens are frequently updated to include stone or granite counters, stainless appliances, breakfast bars, and pantry or eat-in areas; bathrooms often showcase marble tile and deep soaking tubs. Common areas are classic and service-oriented: a 24-hour doorman, live-in superintendent, central laundry, bike room, basement private storage, and a small landscaped courtyard off the rear. The building’s pet-friendly policy and allowance for pied-à-terre use are notable for a prewar condo. Location-wise it occupies a quiet, tree-lined block near Riverside Park and within walking distance of the express subway lines, neighborhood shops, and restaurants of the Upper West Side. Ongoing reserve and façade assessments have appeared in listings, reflecting active capital planning on the property.
