About Miami Springs Middle School

Miami Springs Middle School was established in 1955 with an open campus design, and its campus occupied 19.45 acres. It was part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, was assigned to the district's Central region and belonged to the Miami Springs Senior High School feeder pattern. It held a Fairchild Challenge Award, a Magnet Schools of America Merit Award, a SECME Award, a STEM/STEAM Designation and a VEX IQ Robotics Award, and in 2017 the American School Counselor Association named it a Recognized ASCA Model Program school. Its mascot was the Eagle and its colors were blue and white. The Miami-Dade School Board voted to close the school and combine it with Miami Springs Senior High School, which became Miami Springs 6-12 Preparatory Academy.
