About Design & Architecture Senior High

Design and Architecture Senior High was established in 1990 in Miami's Design District by its founding principal. The school is part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, is assigned to the district's Central region, and holds AdvancED accreditation. It was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1994 and 1996 and named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2007 and 2016. It was designated a Florida Department of Education School of Excellence for 2023-24 and again for 2024-25. Musician Denzel Curry, artist Daniel Arsham, fashion designer Esteban Cortazar and state legislator Dotie Joseph all attended. The school has received a Magnet Schools of America Merit Award. Its mascot is the Phantom and its colors are black and white with a dash of red.
