About Coral Shores High School

Coral Shores High School started out in one building that held six classrooms along with a library, kitchen, office and multipurpose room, and a four-classroom wing followed within two years as the school grew. Two more wings were added in 1956, and plans for a gymnasium were approved in 1966. The school first served younger and older students together; as new schools opened in the 1970s its younger grades moved out, and by 1982 it was a high school only. In the early 2000s a three-phase project replaced all of its original facilities. It is part of the Monroe County School District. Its teams are the Hurricanes, and its colours are green and gold.
