153 E 87Th St

A 12-story prewar condominium constructed in 1929, this boutique Upper East Side property retains classic apartment-house character while offering modernized building systems. The envelope and common spaces have been recently updated, with a refreshed lobby and renovated hallways surrounding an intimate residential core of roughly four units per floor. Residences are mostly studios and one-bedrooms, with occasional larger combinations and duplex/penthouse layouts created by reconfigurations; many homes feature high ceilings, crown moldings, generous built-ins, and formal dining areas reflecting the building's prewar proportions. Typical kitchens are galley or renovated chef-style layouts with stainless appliances; bathrooms have been updated in many units. Common amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby/doorman, on-site super, laundry room, bike storage and additional building storage. Outdoor space appears in select units as private balconies or terraces. The building maintains a pet-friendly policy with small-pet restrictions and offers convenient street-level access, elevator service, and a central Upper East Side location a short walk to multiple subway lines, grocery retailers, museums and Central Park.
