840 Bronx River Rd

Built in 1925, this six-story pre-war residential building presents Tudor-inspired architecture and preserved original details across mainly one-bedroom layouts. Common interior character includes high, cathedral-like ceilings, crown moldings, rounded archways, hardwood floors, working wood-burning fireplaces, and built-in shelving; many units feature eat-in kitchens with granite or quartz counters and modern stainless-steel appliances added during renovations. Shared building elements include an entrance foyer and elevator access, multiple laundry rooms across the campus, and extra storage available for a monthly fee. The exterior grounds provide landscaped gardens, a courtyard with propane BBQ grills, a playground, a basketball court, and mailbox areas; assigned parking is available on a waitlist with municipal parking nearby and short-term outdoor parking options. The pet-friendly community emphasizes a village-scale lifestyle with proximity to green spaces and the Bronx River Parkway nature trail. Situated directly across from the Fleetwood Metro-North station, the property sits within easy walking distance of Bronxville village shops, restaurants, Cross County Shopping Center, and local services, offering direct commutes to Grand Central in roughly 24–30 minutes and quick access to regional highways.
