The Multiple Listing Service, also recognized as the MLS, is an online platform of over 700 to 800 regional MLS databases that are managed and operated by REALTORS®. It’s usually an exclusive portal for real estate brokers, agents, and professionals to list homes for sale, browse important listing property details, or interact with other realtors or clients. Your local listed property will also be available on different national MLS websites such as Realtor.com, Redfin, Trulia, and Zillow. It’s important to know that only licensed real estate agents can list your property on the designated local MLS or making changes to the listing details. A Flat Fee MLS, on the other hand, makes listing to local MLS affordable and easy. Instead of paying the full commission which is 3% for your listing agent and another 3% for the buyer’s agent commission, you can start listing your home for a pre-set amount of money. Usually, For Sale By Owner sellers use the flat fee option to save thousands of commissions and still have complete control of their home sale.
