A Multiple Listing Service, or widely known as MLS, is a private system operated by real estate brokers and agents to collect property listings and gather these homes in one portal. Most of the local listed property listing will be syndicated unto Zillow, RE/MAX, Realtor.com, Redfin, Trulia, and other national real estate sites today. Brokers and agents who have access to the MLS must be a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and must follow the real estate trade terms and conditions. Only professional, licensed real estate agents can use the MLS system. Using a Flat Fee MLS, however, allows (For Sale By Owner) homeowners to sell a home without committing to pay the typical full-rate service commission. For a one-time small fee, FSBO sellers can now list their homes for sale on the MLS based on their own region. You’ll likely save thousands of commissions and still gets the maximum exposure your home deserves.
