To identify the best places to live, we focused on one of the most meaningful indicators of overall well-being, Quality of Life (QOL). Our ranking is built on a data-driven model that measures how comfortably residents can live based on income, employment, and cost of living. Our Approach: We used verified data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), C2ER and Houzeo's Cost of Living in South Carolina Calculator. Each city was evaluated relative to its state average, ensuring fair comparison regardless of size or region. What We Measured: Income Adjusted for Cost of Living (50%) and Employment Stability (50%). Scoring: Each factor was standardized to a state baseline of 100. The two weighted indicators were averaged to produce a Quality of Life Score, highlighting cities where residents can live well, work securely, and thrive.
